Clear Channel Broadcasting, Inc., its subsidiaries and affiliated companies (together, the “Company”), will conduct the Sweepstakes substantially as described in these rules, and by participating, each participant agrees as follows:
The Company may conduct the Sweepstakes concurrently and simultaneously on several participating radio stations owned and not owned by the Company, and the Company may add or remove participating stations or change call letters of any participating station at any time during the Sweepstakes as announced on the affected station. Participating stations are listed above.
1. Description of Sweepstakes/Participation.
A. Dates of Sweepstakes: The Sweepstakes will begin on September 1, 2008 at 12:01:01 a.m. CDT and end on October 31, 2008 at 11:59:59 p.m. CDT (the “Sweepstakes Period”).
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE ODDS OF WINNING. Void where prohibited. Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.
B. How to Enter:
During the Sweepstakes Period, enter by any of these four methods:
1.) Register by visiting the Promotions page on mycurrencyexchange.com or by logging onto the contest pages at Station’s participating websites, WNUA.com, WGCI.com, V103.com, 1035kissfm.com. Complete the on-line registration form with the requested information. Valid contest entries must contain all information requested. Incomplete entries will be disqualified. Limit one entry per day.
2.) Text your entry to 5-1305 (Keyword: Choice). Limit one entry per day. Standard text messaging rates apply.
3.) Hand print your complete name, address and phone number on the entry form available at participating Currency Exchange locations in Illinois and mail your entry, postmarked by no later than October 31, 2008, to the address on the form.. Mail-in entries must be received by November 10, 2008. Limit one request per mailing envelope. No photo copies, facsimiles or reproductions of mail-in entry requests will be accepted. Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, stolen, incomplete, illegible, postage due, or misdirected requests. Proof of mailing does not constitute proof of delivery. Mail-in entries become Sponsor’s property and will not be returned.
4.) Send a qualifying Western Union Money Transfer® transaction (Money in Minutes, Next Day or Direct to Bank) from a participating Currency Exchange location in Illinois. Transactions made by any other method including: Western Union® Quick Collect®, Quick Cash®, Convenience PaySM, Prepaid Services transactions, and Internet telephone money transfers are not eligible. Entrant is deemed to be the person identified to Sponsor as the “Sender.”
C. Random Drawing:
Prize winners will be selected in a random drawing to be conducted on or about November 21 from among all eligible entries received, under the supervision of Company, an independent judging organization, whose decisions are final on all matters relating to this Sweepstakes.
2. Prize(s). The Station will notify the winner(s) from the information provided by the participant at the time of entry. Prizes are not transferable, not redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other prize. If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified, the Company reserves the right to determine an alternate winner or not to award that winner’s prize, in its sole discretion.
- Grand Prize: Trip for Two (2) to Cancun for 4 Days, 3 Nights including roundtrip airfare from Chicago, IL and standard hotel accommodations (double occupancy); excludes all other expenses, including without limitation meals, drinks, incidentals, passports, taxes, fees, parking and ground transfers. 3. Eligibility and Limitations. Participants and winner(s) must be legal U.S. residents at least 18-years old as of September 1, 2008, as determined by the Company, and reside in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan or Wisconsin. The Grand Prize winner and his or her guest must possess a valid U.S. passport. Only one (1) prize per household for the Sweepstakes. Only one (1) prize per household from any of the Company’s stations within any thirty (30) day period. Not eligible for additional winnings after having been awarded a single or aggregate total of $600 for a period of six months. Employees of the Company, Sponsor and its affiliates, and Currency Exchange, and their advertising agencies, employees of other radio or television stations, and members of the immediate family of any such persons are not eligible to participate and win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related.
4. Telephone and Delivery Disclaimer. The Company, Station, Sponsor and Currency Exchange disclaim all liability for any delays, misdelivery, loss, or failure in the delivery of any item sent by mail, courier, express, electronic transmission, or other delivery method. The Company is not responsible for mechanical, technical, electronic, communications, telephone, computer, hardware or software errors, malfunctions or failures of any kind, including: failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed transmission of online entries, traffic congestion on telephone lines, the Internet or at any website or lost or unavailable network connections which may limit a participant's ability to participate in the Sweepstakes, and any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer or other device related to or resulting from participating in or downloading any information necessary to participate in the Sweepstakes.
5. Publicity; Use of Personal Information. The personal information you submit when you enter the Sweepstakes is collected by Sponsor and will be subject to Sponsor’s Privacy Statement (“Statement”). Sponsor may disclose your personal information to third parties as explained in the Statement. To obtain a copy of the Statement, visit Sponsor’s website at www.westernunion.com or call 1-800-562-2598 and ask for a copy of Sponsor’s Privacy Statement. Information disclosed may include financial background; identification, such as name and address; transaction information; and other information relating to financial matters. Recipients may include financial institutions; retailers; companies that process transactions or provide other services for Sponsor; government agencies; and direct marketers. You may opt out of (direct Sponsor not to make) certain disclosures. If you do not opt out, Sponsor will assume that you agree that your information may be used as the Statement describes. To opt out, call 1-800-562-2598. By participating, where allowed by law, all participants and winner(s) grant the Sponsor exclusive permission to use their names, characters, photographs, voices, and likenesses in connection with promotion of this and other sweepstakes and waive any claims to royalty, right, or remuneration for such use.
6. Release. By participating in the Sweepstakes, each participant and winner waives any and all claims of liability against the Company, Station, Sponsor, Currency Exchange and their employees and agents for any personal injury or loss which may occur from the conduct of, or participation in, the Sweepstakes, or from the use of any prize. In order to receive a prize, participants must sign an official waiver form and an affidavit of eligibility provided by the Company.
7. Taxes. Any valuation of the prize(s) stated above is based on available information provided to the Company, and the value of any prize awarded to a winner may be reported for tax purposes as required by law. Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes related to the prize(s) and paying any expenses associated with any prize which are not specifically provided for in the official rules. Each winner must provide the Company with valid identification and a valid taxpayer identification number or social security number before any prize will be awarded. Any person winning over $600 in prizes will receive an IRS form 1099 at the end of the calendar year and a copy of such form will be filed with the IRS.
8. Conduct and Decisions. By participating in the Sweepstakes, participants agree to be bound by the decisions of Company personnel. Persons who violate any rule, gain unfair advantage in participating in the Sweepstakes, or obtain winner status using fraudulent means will be disqualified. Unsportsmanlike, disruptive, annoying, harassing or threatening behavior is prohibited. The Company will interpret these rules and resolve any disputes, conflicting claims or ambiguities concerning the rules or the Sweepstakes and the Company’s decisions concerning such disputes shall be final. If the conduct or outcome of the Sweepstakes is affected by human error, any mechanical malfunctions or failures of any kind, intentional interference or any event beyond the control of the Company, the Company reserves the right to terminate this Sweepstakes, or make such other decisions regarding the outcome as the Company deems appropriate. All decisions will be made by the Company and are final. The Company may waive any of these rules in its sole discretion. ANY ATTEMPT BY A PARTICIPANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY CIRCUMVENT, DISRUPT OR DAMAGE ORDINARY AND NORMAL OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST, TELEPHONE SYSTEMS OR WEBSITES, OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, COMPANY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PARTICIPANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
9. Miscellaneous. Each winner must submit proof of eligibility and sign the Company’s release form to claim the prize. The Company may substitute prizes, amend the rules or discontinue the Sweepstakes at any time as announced on the Station(s). The Company disclaims any responsibility to notify participants of any aspect related to the conduct of the Sweepstakes. For a copy of the rules, or a list of winners, visit the business office of the Station during normal business hours or mail a written request (postmarked by October 31, 2008) with a stamped, self-addressed return envelope to the Station’s address, listed above. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
- Compliance with Law. The conduct of the Sweepstakes is governed by the applicable laws of the Unites States of America, which take precedence over any rule to the contrary herein.
